About the Role
As the Head of Payments, you will play a critical role in developing and executing strategies to optimize payment operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing the overall payment experience for our customers. With a strong engineering background, you will be able to effectively handle the technical aspects of payment integration and optimization, driving success in our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute payment strategies that align with our business goals and objectives, identifying opportunities for technological innovation and process improvements in payment operations.
- Leverage your engineering background to oversee the integration and management of payment processing systems within our telehealth platform, ensuring that payment systems are secure, efficient, and scalable.
- Enhance the payment experience for our users by optimizing payment methods and addressing any technical issues, implementing user feedback to continually improve the payment process.
- Oversee payment operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and fraud prevention, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Oversee payment-related technical projects, including system integrations, process enhancements, and new payment method implementations.
- Ensure all payment operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, implementing robust risk management practices to prevent fraud and maintain data security.
- Manage and support our relationships with merchant vendors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, etc.), driving strategic partnerships to enhance our payment capabilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of technical, financial, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in payment systems, financial operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with Stripe, including in-depth knowledge of its APIs and payment solutions.
- A strong background in payment processing systems and payment technology integration.
- Experience with APIs, payment gateways, and technical aspects of payment infrastructure.
- Familiarity with security protocols and data protection regulations related to payments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead effective meetings with multiple stakeholders; exceptional cross-organization collaboration and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a tech, healthcare, or telehealth environment.
- Proven ability to efficiently complete projects and initiatives on time and on target.
- Experience in project management and business operations best practices.
