Key Responsibilities
As a GovCon Full-Time Proposal Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with our principal proposal manager to understand assignment requirements and develop a winning proposal strategy.
- Leading the proposal development process from pre-RFP to final award, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
- Refining content provided by section authors to ensure clarity, coherence, and compliance with RFP requirements.
- Tracking the status of proposal generation, maintaining schedules, and organizing internal collaborative meetings with technical and business development teams.
- Drafting and editing compliant templates and documents in response to RFPs, requests for information, sources sought, white papers, and requests for capabilities statements.
- Issuing and tracking data calls with teammates and supporting partners to ensure all RFP requirements are addressed.
- Interfacing with partners to ensure defined SOW and all RFP requirements are met.
- Coordinating with other involved departments to achieve proposal objectives in a timely manner and remaining current on all amendments and modifications.
- Acting as production supervisor for proposals, overseeing word processing, graphics, proofreading, reproduction, printing, collation, and binding of the final proposal.
- Providing support to technical writers, assisting in formatting, figure insertion, and other tasks as needed.
- Coordinating the insertion of draft changes from all team members for final text and graphics.
- Maintaining electronic files supporting these responsibilities for shared accessibility and transparency.
- Drafting smaller proposals cradle-to-grave for all content from existing corporate information as a first draft.
- Generating proposals in Microsoft Word with supporting files in other formats such as PDF and Excel.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- 3+ years of experience in proposal support and/or proposal leadership, preferably in the GovCon industry.
- Extremely strong skills with Microsoft Word, including the use of style sheets.
- A proven track record of developing proposals for the federal government.
- A basic understanding of information technology, with a background in technology-intensive services being a plus.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as well as a strong contributor in a cross-functional team environment on complex projects.
- Strong and proven organizational skills, with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
- A strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working in a telework environment and being productive with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of proposal management tools and software.
