About the Role
We are seeking a high-impact and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support necessary to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including Kinder, Early Years, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High, SpEd, and Special Ed
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, with one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
- Special education training or experience
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience working with diverse student populations
