Job description:
I’m a YouTube creator producing calm, educational talking-head videos around health, wellbeing, and lived experience.
I’m looking for a light-touch editor who values clarity, smooth pacing, and consistency — not flashy or fast-cut styles.
Editing style:
Clean, smooth cuts (remove pauses, mistakes, long gaps)
Calm, natural pacing
Simple lower-third title at the start (no opening title card)
Simple section title cards between sections (guided by script)
On-screen text for key points only (not constant captions)
Occasional light B-roll where it genuinely adds clarity (optional, not forced)
Modern, clean visual style (neutral / pale / pastel tones preferred)
This is not a high-energy, jump-cut, TikTok-style channel.
Video details:
Length: 6–12 minutes final edit
Raw footage may be 20–25 minutes (single-take recording)
Format: talking head, single camera
Frequency: 1–2 videos per week (ongoing if a good fit)
Workflow note:
Sometimes I will pre-process footage (e.g. audio balancing or eye-contact correction).
Other times I may send raw footage. I’m happy to agree a consistent workflow together.
If you already work with tools like Descript or apply audio balancing/eye contact as part of your process, that’s a plus — but not required.
What I’m looking for:
Experience with YouTube talking-head content
Comfortable working from a script with clear section headings
Reliable turnaround (48–72 hours preferred)
Open to feedback and consistency across videos
High level of English required — this role involves editing spoken educational content and adding on-screen text, so accuracy and understanding of nuance are important.
Budget:
$25-$40 per video
Starting with one paid test video
Please include:
1–2 examples of similar YouTube work
Your typical turnaround time
Confirmation you’re happy with calm, minimal editing
Whether you currently use any AI audio / eye-contact tools (optional)
