They are seeking a Patient Access Specialist who will be responsible for verifying patient information, scheduling services, and providing customer support, all while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance details, securing necessary pre-certifications and authorizations
- Accurately schedule clinical services while confirming patient details
- Provide customer service support to patients regarding financial responsibilities and pre-registration
- Input patient and insurance data accurately into relevant systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial, or Healthcare fields preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient access, financial services, or healthcare-related roles
- Proficiency in medical terminology and insurance protocols
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- 2-3 years of experience in patient access or healthcare-related roles
- Experience with hospital billing requirements and documentation processes
- Knowledge of Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA
- Bilingual skills are a plus
