About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and deployment of data solutions that meet business needs. As a Full Stack Data Engineer at Walgreens, you'll collaborate closely with data scientists to define data requirements for new solutions, develop scalable data pipelines, and ensure data quality and integrity across various sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to support advanced analytics and data science solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists to define data requirements for new solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Create software that processes, stores, and serves data for use by others, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Develop data architectures and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data that produces insights and addresses reporting needs.
- Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database systems, and create tools for real-time and offline analytical processing.
- Develop scalable, repeatable, and secure data pipelines that meet business requirements.
- Investigate software and processes for data consistency and integrity, ensuring data quality and accessibility standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and barriers as they arise, ensuring seamless data processing and analysis.
- Engage with internal and external peers, as well as management, to exchange semi-complex information related to allocated tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in SQL and data pipeline development.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality standards for services.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions and drive improvement of results.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a technical discipline, such as a Master's or Ph.D.
- Experience with REST API development and Azure application deployment.
- Familiarity with Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Application Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Logic Apps.
- Experience building Azure DevOps pipelines to enable CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
