Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Computer Programmer to lead the development of our media experience layer, a critical component of our direct-to-consumer brands. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement a predictable programming model that delivers a top-tier streaming experience. This is a full-time remote opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $34 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Peer Services and Front-End Teams: Work closely with peer services and front-end teams to plan and design a layered architecture for media playback that meets the needs of our direct-to-consumer brands.
- Client Module Development: Write client modules using coding best practices for the target platform, ensuring high-quality and maintainable code.
- Innovation and Research: Conduct research and development to improve media playback experiences, exploring new technologies and innovative solutions.
- Project Planning and Team Activities: Participate in project planning and team activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline is required.
- 3+ Years of Experience in Roku SceneGraph and BrightScript Development: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Roku SceneGraph and BrightScript development is required.
- 3+ Years of Experience with HLS or MPEG-Based Streaming Solutions: A minimum of 3 years of experience working with HLS or MPEG-based streaming solutions is required.
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with HLS, Transport Stream, and CMAF Media Formats: Experience and expertise working with HLS, transport stream, and CMAF media formats is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Disney Technologies: Experience working with Disney technologies, such as Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Cloud-Based Services: Knowledge of cloud-based services, such as AWS or Azure, is highly desirable.
