About the Position
This role leads SCOUT’s e-commerce business and reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing & Ecommerce. This person is responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and customer engagement. In partnership with senior leadership, it oversees revenue planning, promotions, seasonal launches, and the strategy and daily operations of the Shopify site. This role manages merchandising and assortment strategy, leads analytics, SEO, and conversion optimization. This role oversees digital technology and vendor partners, and mentors the E-Commerce Specialist to ensure a seamless, high-performing online experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Revenue & Promotional Strategy
- Partner with the Senior Director to forecast and manage revenue targets.
- Develop and execute the promotional calendar and seasonal product launches.
- Create seasonal site strategies based on brand direction, assortment, performance insights, and competitive trends
Site Experience & Optimization
- Own the vision and performance of SCOUTbags.com, ensuring an engaging, intuitive, mobile-first experience.
- Lead Shopify site operations including merchandising, catalog management, promotions, CRO, and content updates.
- Optimize site speed, checkout performance, and the A/B testing roadmap to improve conversion.
Merchandising & Inventory Alignment
- Drive assortment and merchandising strategies that support revenue and margin goals.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Planning teams to align site strategy with inventory and demand forecasts.
- Implement product placement and navigation strategies that improve discovery and conversion.
Analytics & Conversion Optimization
- Lead performance analysis and reporting to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
- Use GA4, Triple Whale, heatmaps, session recordings, and customer feedback to optimize the conversion funnel.
- Track and improve key metrics including conversion rate, retention, and average order value.
SEO & Traffic Growth
- Lead SEO strategy with agency partners to increase organic and direct traffic.
- Optimize content and product pages for emerging generative and AI-driven search.
Technology & Vendor Management
- Manage website infrastructure, integrations, and external partners.
- Ensure platforms meet privacy, security, and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 3+ years in a similar role at a consumer facing brand, preferably within the fashion, retail, or lifestyle industry.
- Experience with E-commerce platforms (preferably Shopify) including merchandising, catalog management, and promotional execution.
- Experience with digital analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 to drive data-informed decision making.
- Experience with conversion rate optimization frameworks.
- Experience with SEO and emerging generative/AI Driven search optimization using tools like SEMrush and Google Search Console.
- Experience managing digital agencies and cross-functional marketing teams.
Work Location & Travel
- This position is fully remote.
- Employees are expected to work Eastern Time business hours (approximately 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET).
- Occasional travel to SCOUT Bags headquarters (approximately four times per year) is expected for planning and team collaboration.
