We're seeking a talented Instructional Designer to join our team at the University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medical Student Education. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for planning and implementing interactive learning activities and compelling course content that meets the needs of our target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and analysis, identifying new development needs for our target audience
- Design and create engaging learning activities and course content that enhances retention and transfer, using a range of methodologies and emerging technologies
- Develop instructional graphics, user interfaces, and finished products that provide an exceptional learning experience
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts, applying tested instructional design theories and methods
- Create supporting multimedia materials, including audio, video, simulations, and games, to enhance the learning process
- Determine criteria for judging learner performance and develop assessment instruments
- Maintain project documentation, course folders, and resources, adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures
Department Specific Functions:
- Degree in Instructional Design or Higher Education Administration preferred
- Experience with industry-standard Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, and Elentra required
- Teaching experience and experience working with subject matter experts in medical education preferred
- Highly proficient in various Learning Management Systems and authoring tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and iSpring
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage projects, and maintain records
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, maintain records, and work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office
