About Amazon's Shipping & Delivery Support Team
Amazon's SDS team develops and maintains support content for customer service associates, delivery drivers, and customers worldwide. Our goal is to provide high-quality translations that cater to diverse audiences and cultures. As a Translation Program Specialist, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional localization experiences that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and manage daily translation/localization requests from internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Create and manage translation projects in the Amazon Translation Management System (ATMS) by outsourcing to vendors, coordinating project timelines, and communicating with stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot issues or questions regarding target audience, file type, and business requirements, providing linguistic support to translation vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Utilize project management methodologies, including risk management, to plan, scope, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and implement changes, ensuring that projects meet business requirements and customer needs.
Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in project management and localization, preferably in a global, cross-functional, multilingual team environment.
- Excellent business communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, translation vendors, and customers.
- Proven project management experience, with a track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy in translation and localization projects.
- Passion for intercultural communication, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances and language complexities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in one or more non-English languages, with a strong understanding of language complexities and cultural nuances.
- Comprehension of translation/localization industry processes, including knowledge of localization tools, translation management systems, and content management systems.
- Experience working with Amazon's Translation Management System (ATMS) or similar translation management tools.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
