Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to homes and businesses in the Linlithgow area, ensuring timely and efficient service
- Operate a Royal Mail vehicle, adhering to safety standards and regulations
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues
- Work independently, using your initiative to overcome challenges and achieve targets
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
- Maintain accurate records and complete tasks as required
- Work flexibly, including Sundays during peak times on rotation
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- The ability to work independently, with a strong sense of self-motivation
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time effectively
- A willingness to work outside in all weathers, walking for long periods and lifting mailbags as required
- A strong sense of community and pride in your work
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills will be considered advantageous:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in a delivery or logistics environment
- Knowledge of Royal Mail procedures and systems
- Basic IT skills, with the ability to use handheld scanning devices and other technology
- Ability to lift and carry heavy mailbags
