About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced K-6 virtual tutor to join our team at Littera Education. As a virtual tutor, you will play a vital role in providing academic support to students across the United States who require additional guidance in English or Math. Littera Education is a leading provider of virtual tutoring services, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students. Our high-dosage tutoring model pairs students with the same tutor for 2-3 sessions a week, promoting a consistent and supportive relationship. Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual tutoring sessions to K-6 students in English or Math, using our online platform and curriculum materials.
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with students, promoting academic growth and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, using clear and concise language.
- Use technology to facilitate virtual sessions, including video conferencing, online whiteboards, and other digital tools.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum materials and educational best practices, participating in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Meet with a tutor mentor and participate in a brief virtual mock tutoring appointment to demonstrate virtual classroom and tutor skills.
Requirements
- Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity, such as teaching, tutoring, or mentoring.
- Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability to support a session series from week to week at the same time with the same student(s).
- Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology, including a desktop or laptop, Chrome browser, video camera, and reliable/stable internet connection.
- Residency in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

- A competitive hourly rate of $18 per hour, with opportunities to earn $22 per hour for high school Algebra I tutoring sessions.
