Job Overview
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance, to provide data-driven insights and support informed decision-making. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, developing data visualizations, and creating reports to communicate complex information to stakeholders. Your expertise in SQL, Tableau, and business operations will enable you to make a significant impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with large, complex datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions
- Develop ETLs and processes to extract data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table
- Create data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges
- Engage with team members and cross-functional groups to establish credibility and provide actionable insights
- Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information, including data accuracy, completeness, and latency
- Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting tasks and improve efficiency
- Document processes and share expertise with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience)
- Creativity with a User Experience basis to develop impactful Tableau dashboards (1-2 years of experience)
- Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to understand and root cause business problems, preferably with a Supply Chain background and transportation experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau
- Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc.
