Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation and updating patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information
- Prepare and send all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
- Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with healthcare providers
- Comply with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission, to maintain confidentiality and integrity of patient information
- Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, medical records, or a related field, with a strong understanding of US healthcare industry regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMRs) systems, with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities of remote work
- Certification in medical records or a related field, such as Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
