About the Role: Substitute Teacher
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to fill the role of a Substitute Teacher. Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instruction: Deliver high-quality lessons, following the curriculum and lesson plans provided by the school, to ensure that students meet their learning objectives.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organized, respectful, and safe classroom environment that promotes learning and minimizes disruptions.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support to students as needed, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with students, teachers, and other school staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of education.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development, including our free, online training programs, to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in education.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or 60+ college credits.
- Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor.
- A NJ Substitute Credential.
- A background check and TB risk assessment (expenses covered by Scoot Education).
- Full COVID-19 vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience.
- Special education training or experience.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
