The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking a Business Taxes Specialist I to support tax administration efforts. The role involves providing technical support, leading projects, and serving as a subject matter expert on tax law and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to team members, supervisors, and management
- Develops, updates, and delivers section policies, procedures, and training curriculum
- Independently leads and coordinates special and complex projects
- Represents the section/branch at multi-departmental and external stakeholder meetings
- Handles sensitive inquiries from internal sections, external agencies, and the public
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on program requirements, tax law, and compliance activities
- Analyzes data and creates/maintains statistical reports
- Acts as Point of Contact (POC) for system enhancements and troubleshooting
- Participates in system design sessions, testing efforts, and system change processes
