Truck Dispatcher

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of freight, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining efficient communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and a commitment to providing excellent service. Duties • Coordinate daily dispatch operations for a fleet of trucks, ensuring optimal routing and scheduling. • Utilize GIS and GPS technology to track vehicles and monitor delivery progress. • Manage transportation planning and logistics to maximize efficiency in freight movement. • Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing clear instructions and support. • Input data accurately into transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. • Analyze shipping and receiving processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. • Maintain comprehensive records of dispatch activities, including delivery schedules and fleet management reports. • Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure seamless operations within the supply chain. • Uphold high standards of phone etiquette while interacting with clients, vendors, and team members. Experience • 2+ years of proven experience in dispatching or logistics roles is preferred but not required. • Familiarity with transportation management systems and related software (e.g., DAT, Trucker Path, Oracle Transportation Management, AS400). • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, shipping & receiving protocols, and fleet management practices. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry and record keeping. • Experience working with analysis tools to enhance operational efficiency is a plus.
