Sr. DevOps Engineer - Remote but local to Ohio or surrounding area
About the position The Sr. DevOps Engineer position is a key role focused on leading the migration of database infrastructure from MySQL to MSSQL for a local Ohio company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud systems, particularly AWS, and will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining scalable infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and proficiency in scripting languages to automate processes. Responsibilities • Lead the migration of the database infrastructure from MySQL to MSSQL • Build, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Docker • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or any modern scripting language • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud systems to ensure high availability and performance • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration and system reliability Requirements • Proven experience with MySQL and MSSQL, including database migrations • Strong knowledge of AWS services, especially Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker • Expertise in infrastructure automation using Terraform • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges Nice-to-haves • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and database environments Apply tot his job
