What You’ll Do Blackpoint Cyber is a provider of leading-edge cybersecurity threat hunting, detection, and response technology. Blackpoint was founded by former National Security Agency (NSA) cyber operations experts that applied their expertise to bring nation/state grade technologies to commercial customers around the world. We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist who will operate in a technical lead role for the data science function of our A.I. business unit. Candidates will directly support Blackpoint’s cyber security mission, helping to stop cyber-attacks, and protecting Blackpoint’s rapidly growing customer base. Summary: As a Sr. Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building out Blackpoint Cyber’s data science solutions to support development of our A.I. products and features. You will report directly to the Head of Artificial Intelligence. Who You Are: Blackpoint Cyber is looking for someone who has: • 5+ years of experience in hands-on Data Science, with a track record of delivering A.I. products and services into production. • Experience building in the well-architected mindset—for efficiency, performance, security, and reliability. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. What You’ll Bring: Experienced in: • Cloud-based ML development (AWS) • Data IngesHon & Wrangling (Spark, EMR, SageMaker) • Feature Engineering (Feature Pipelines, Feature Store) • Model Development, Analysis, & Deployment (SageMaker, Airflow) • Inference Streams & Event-driven Processing (Ka[a, Spark) • Scripting Language (Python, Bash) • Query Language (SQL, Ksql) • Containerized Services (Docker, Kubernetes) • MLOps Workflows (SageMaker, MLFlow) • GitFlow & DevOps Best Practices Nice to Have: • Time-Series Analysis • Transformer Neural Nets • Agile Scrum • Programming (Scala, Java) • Experience in Cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP fields How You’ll Make an Impact: • Define, implement, train, and evaluate ML models. • Design and implement algorithms to ingest, wrangle, and transform model input data. • Conduct feature engineering to extract, construct, derive, and evaluate model inputs. • Perform statistical analyses per stakeholder requirements and modeling objectives. • Deploy models and feature engineering algorithms as scalable containerized solutions. • Develop model governance utilities and dashboards to monitor, report, and visualize performance of deployed solutions. • Implement data, feature, and model lifecycle best practices. • Contribute to A.I. architecture and design decisions. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Blackpoint Cyber’s Security Operations Center (SOC), and our Adversary Pursuit Group (APG) Blackpoint Cyber welcomes and encourages applications from qualified individuals of all races, colors, religions, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
