Senior Azure Cloud Engineer - Remote Contract (Security/Data Protection)

Job Overview Are you a seasoned Azure Cloud Engineer with expertise in security and data protection? We are seeking an exceptional professional to spearhead a major ransomware protection initiative. This long-term contract position is fully remote, requiring alignment with Eastern Time Zone working hours. Key Responsibilities • Direct the design and execution of security and data protection protocols within Azure. • Architect and implement a comprehensive roadmap for ransomware protection. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment with corporate objectives. • Leverage Azure tools and best practices to optimize cloud security and storage solutions. • Engage with technologies such as Azure Policy, Storage Accounts, Git, JIRA, Terraform (Azure RM/Terraform Provider), Azure Key Vault, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL Database. Required Skills • Over 5 years of experience with Azure cloud technologies. • At least 2 years of expertise in IT security, particularly in the realms of data protection and ransomware response. • Proven experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure management. • Proficient in Azure security tools, policies, and industry best practices. • Strong analytical skills and the capability to work autonomously. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders. • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Qualifications • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Azure cloud technologies and IT security.
