Sales & Business Strategist, Events & Hospitality Department: Managed Venue Administration 800406 Employment Type: Full Time Location: Events Reporting To: Megan Mc Luckie Description The Sales & Business Strategist is a hybrid role focused on driving revenue growth, market visibility, and sales performance across our five premier Metro Detroit venues. This position blends sales expertise, business strategy, and marketing execution to ensure the team has the tools and positioning to convert high-value opportunities in corporate, social, and wedding markets. This individual lead initiatives that fuel lead-generation, accelerates pipeline activity, and expands market reach through data, trend analysis, and competitive insights. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and a proven track record in B2B sales. Key Responsibilities Sales & Revenue Strategy · Generate sales annually through wedding sales and B2B relationships, re-engagement campaigns, and outbound outreach. · Regularly meet with clients to understand their business objectives and provide tailored solutions · Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies and campaigns to drive revenue growth across corporate, social and wedding markets across all five venues. · Collaborate with the sales team on refining rate structures, event collections, and client-facing materials to align with market trends and client needs. · Maintain and optimize sales tools, including rate sheets, decks, and venue collateral, ensuring consistency and effectiveness. · Monitor and analyze sales data to ensure accurate forecasting, improve overall conversion rate and guide sales follow-up. Marketing Expansion · Strategize marketing initiatives that fuel lead generation, increase brand visibility, and drive qualified bookings. · Support the creation and distribution of sales materials, collateral, decks, rate sheets & venue resources in partnership with the marketing team. · Strategically lead the planning of open houses, and public-facing events to support seasonal goals and pipeline targets. Industry & Competitive Analysis · Conduct ongoing research on competitors’ pricing, packaging, and promotions. · Identify industry and economic trends to recommend adjustments to offerings, pricing, or positioning. · Leverage client feedback and data to shape sales messaging, packaging, and new opportunities Strategic Team Partnerships · Assist sales team with venue tours with potential clients across all Managed Venue locations when needed – including occasional evening and weekends. · Assist sales team with filtering inbound calls and qualifying leads. · Serve as the Sales Representative in cross-functional planning and marketing meetings to advocate for revenue-impacting initiatives. · Support onboarding of new sales team members with tools, systems and strategic guidance. #CONALB Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; · 5+ years of event sales experience spanning weddings, social, and corporate events, with a proven focus on B2B and high-value corporate accounts. · Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment. · Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. · Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive under pressure. · Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
