Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VectorShift is seeking a QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality of software products through meticulous manual testing. The role involves collaborating with developers and product managers to identify defects and verify functionality, focusing on hands-on testing, test case creation, and detailed reporting. Responsibilities Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases based on product requirements and specifications Execute manual test cases to verify the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications across various platforms and devices Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear), providing clear and detailed reproduction steps Work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure defects are resolved effectively Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios and assisting end-users during testing phases Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation, including test cases, test results, and defect reports Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing Familiarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) Basic knowledge of software development processes Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills to articulate defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience testing web and/or mobile applications Familiarity with basic scripting or automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman) is a plus but not required Knowledge of SQL for database testing is an advantage Company Overview VectorShift Builds, designs, prototypes, and deploys custom generative AI workflows.
