Legal Research Assistant – Intellectual Property Law (Academic / Teaching Support)

I’m a senior academic preparing and teaching a course in International & Comparative Intellectual Property Law. I’m looking for a legally trained research assistant to support me with targeted legal research and review, not administrative work. This role involves helping me: - Research specific, clearly scoped IP law questions - Check accuracy and clarity of teaching materials I prepare (slides, notes, summaries) - Flag issues, ambiguities, or areas that may need clarification for students - Occasionally help summarise or compare legal concepts across jurisdictions This is not a drafting role and not a paralegal job. I am looking for someone who understands IP law and can think critically and communicate clearly. Scope of work may include: - Targeted research on IP doctrines, cases, or statutory frameworks - Reviewing existing material for clarity and coherence (academic / teaching context) - Preparing short written summaries or bullet-point notes - Verifying terminology and legal accuracy Requirements: - Formal legal training (law degree in progress or completed) - Demonstrated familiarity with intellectual property law - Strong legal research and writing skills - Ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely Nice to have but not required: - Academic or teaching assistant experience - Comparative law exposure - Experience supporting professors or researchers Working style: - Asynchronous, task-based work - Clear questions and instructions provided - Hourly engagement with flexible workload Please include: - A brief description of your legal background - Your experience with IP law (coursework, research, practice, etc.) Apply tot his job
