The right candidate will most likely have an accounting foundation and be located in either San Francisco or NY, 100% Remote with minimim travel. Our client is looking for a Senior, Hands-on Operator to help launch the fund very early in the life of the platform, someone who can help design and implement the operational, legal, compliance, reporting, and investor-facing infrastructure from day one in a way that meets (and exceeds) the expectations of sophisticated LPs such as family offices and institutions. This is a pivotal role that has potential to grow into a CFO/COO at some point. Responsibilities • Have strong fund finance and administration experience (VC/PE/private funds) • Understand the legal and regulatory requirements of running a US fund structure (GP/LP, Cayman/Delaware structures, KYC/AML, reporting obligations, audits, etc.) • Be experienced managing fund administrators, lawyers, auditors, tax advisors, and compliance providers • Own the processes for capital calls, distributions, LP reporting, audit cycles, valuations, and governance documentation • Help design systems, workflows, and reporting standards that make the fund highly credible and attractive to institutional-grade LPs • Be comfortable operating in a lean, start-up environment and building best-in-class infrastructure from scratch Required Skills Infrastructure Architecture: Design the "institutional-grade" tech stack (e.g., Allvue, Investran, or Carta) that provides transparent, real-time reporting. • Provider Ecosystem Management: Act as the primary interface for your fund administrator, law firms (on Delaware/Cayman structuring), auditors, and tax advisors to ensure a "no-surprises" environment for LPs. • Compliance & Governance Ownership: Build the internal control framework for KYC/AML, SEC filings, and LP side-letter compliance—crucial for clearing institutional due diligence. • Investor Experience Design: Own the capital call/distribution lifecycle and the investor portal, ensuring a seamless, professional experience that builds long-term LP trust. Qualifications & Preferred Skills Must have at least 7-12 years+of accounting and operations at a pe or vc fund. Preferably Cayman exposure. • Strong fund finance and administration experience (VC/PE/private funds) • Experience managing fund administrators, lawyers, auditors, tax advisors, and compliance providers Preferred Skills Experience: Ideally 7–12 years in private fund operations or administration (VC/PE/Hedge Fund), with a track record of building from scratch or managing rapid growth. • Skills: Deep knowledge of fund accounting, US/Offshore structures, and regulatory obligations (e.g., SEC Form ADV, FATCA/CRS). • Mindset: "Hands-on Architect"—someone who will personally draft the first SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) but can also present to an LP Investment Committee.
