Key Responsibilities
As our ideal candidate, you will be expected to:
- Maintain an active national/international research profile, contributing to the advancement of music theory and its related fields.
- Teach two courses per semester, developing and delivering curricula that reflect your expertise and our college's commitment to inclusive excellence.
- Advise graduate students, providing guidance and mentorship as they pursue their academic and professional goals.
- Participate on College-wide committees, contributing to the governance and strategic development of our community.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A completed PhD in Music Theory (ABD applicants will be considered).
- A strong research profile, with a focus on areas such as music cognition, empirical approaches, theory and analysis of world musics, music theory pedagogy, music, multimedia, and dance, or history of theory.
- Evidence of teaching excellence, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- A demonstrated ability to contribute to the college's commitment to inclusive excellence, including experience working with underserved communities or promoting inclusivity in your academic field.
