Job Summary JOB TITLE: Virtual Learning Lab Teacher REPORTS TO: Principal ANNUAL CALENDAR DAYS: 9 months, 187 Days POSITION SUMMARY The Virtual Learning Lab teacher will supervise, and support students enrolled in online learning courses. The teacher will monitor student attendance, engagement, pacing, and progress while maintaining a structured, in-person learning environment. The Virtual Learning Lab teacher will provide instructional support as needed and ensure students remain on track for successful course completion. QUALIFICATIONS • Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate • Strong classroom management skills • Effective communication and organizational skills • Experience with digital learning platforms is preferred • Must meet the suitability criteria for employment as required by the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and ACT No. 2002-457 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise students participating in online coursework • Monitor daily attendance and active engagement • Track and document student progress and pacing • Provide academic support and clarification of concepts as needed • Communicate concerns regarding student performance to counselors and administrators • Implement interventions for students who are not making adequate progress • Maintain a structured and orderly classroom environment • Ensure academic integrity during assessments and assignments • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development as required • Other duties as assigned TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY Employment is for a 9-month term (187 days). Salary will be determined in accordance with the approved salary matrix and based on credentials and experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity are required to perform job responsibilities. PLEASE NOTE All candidates must submit to a background check.
