Senior Executive Assistant

At Focused Energy, we are a pioneering startup committed to achieving safe, clean, and scalable fusion energy using laser-induced inertial fusion technology. As we work toward a sustainable energy future, we’re seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to support our President in Germany, based in Berlin or Darmstadt. This is not a traditional EA role—this is an opportunity to operate as a true strategic partner, taking initiative, improving processes, and making an impact across the organization.

• Manage the President’s inbox and calendar, ensuring urgent matters are addressed and priorities remain on track.

• Filter and structure communications to support focus and fast decision-making.

• Prepare briefings and materials for meetings, travel, and external engagements.

• Plan and coordinate complex travel, meetings, and events—including logistics, agendas, and stakeholder alignment.

• Track upcoming commitments and ensure timely preparation and execution.

• Support the development of presentations, reports, and other executive deliverables.

• Liaise with internal teams and external partners, including investors, politicians, and key collaborators.

• Represent the President’s office with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

• Identify and implement tools and workflows that enhance communication and team effectiveness.

• Drive the continuous improvement of executive operations and internal processes.

• Based in Berlin or Darmstadt. This role requires regular in-person collaboration and presence at one of our key German offices.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a senior executive assistant or similar role, ideally in a fast-paced international or startup environment.

• Proven experience handling complex communications, logistics, and stakeholders at the executive level.

• A confident, opinionated partner who thrives on direct communication and taking initiative.

• C2-level fluency in both German and English (required) to work with senior international stakeholders and local political networks.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

• Comfortable using modern tools and open to implementing new tech solutions to improve workflow.

• High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

• Able to work independently, think ahead, anticipate needs, and serve as a trusted, proactive thought partner to the President.
