Senior Developer – Technical Lead, Commercialization

In this vital role you will be part of the Commercialization digital product team to deliver technology and data services and solutions that achieve strategies and business goals including insights and analytics on Amgen’s product portfolio. We are seeking a Full Stack Tech Lead to lead the technical architecture, development, and delivery of the portfolio of solutions supporting our Commercialization organization. This role will focus on PPM (Planisware), Databricks, Analytics enablement (Tableau, Power BI) and GenAI integration — ensuring these platforms are integrated and optimized to drive launch readiness, customer engagement, and portfolio planning.
The Specialist Software Engineer is responsible for crafting and building secure, scalable solutions across the Commercialization landscape working with other Platform/Product Owners, Architects, and within the broader technology and data team to develop products and integrations aligned with standard methodologies. The candidate will support the development of the Commercialization technology & data portfolio at Amgen while also mentoring junior developers.
This role will stay abreast of Enterprise Technology, AI and Data Platforms roadmap and capabilities, provide feedback to and develop standard methodologies, optimize engineering or release processes.
The Specialist Software Engineer will collaborate with various teams such as program management, development teams, data platforms and Commercialization business partners, to lend clarification and support to requirements definition at all stages of the digital product life cycle.
Design and develop strategic, hands-on technology solutions aligned with the commercialization strategy to achieve the greatest business impact. Lead hands-on development using technologies such as frontend frameworks like React, Angular, Lightning Web Components and backend in Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET.
Lead major projects, modelling data structures and pipelines aligned with Commercialization Databricks solutions, while supporting customizations and integrations for solution delivery. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Apply hands-on experience and best practices to configure Planisware application(s), ensuring compliance with security protocols. Communicate software and system designs through UML.
Collaborate with team members (business partners, QA, product managers) in a hands-on capacity to develop test classes, automation, and validate business logic. Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and resolve technical challenges.
Represent Planisware/PPM and associated analytics technical capabilities to meet Commercialization needs, provide gap analysis, and develop estimates for user stories. Manage technical delivery scope, risk, and timeline, with hands-on ownership from conception to deployment.
Contribute to front-end and back-end development with hands-on involvement, rapidly prototyping and implementing configuration, data pipelines and enhancements to support Commercialization business strategies. Stay updated with industry trends, including generative AI, and provide hands-on technical guidance to junior developers.
Maintain documentation on architecture, design, deployment, and operations, while collaborating closely with product teams, commercialization teams, and other stakeholders.
Represent the Commercialization data in upstream and downstream dependent solution discussions as well as enterprise strategic programs.

Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
Associate's degree with 8 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
Diploma with 10 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field
Experience with PPM platforms, Planisware or other.
Strong knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, and enterprise AI integration.
Full-stack development experience (frontend frameworks like React/Angular/Lightning Web Components; backend in Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET).
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud platforms
Experience working in a regulated industry such as healthcare or life sciences
Ability to work in a changing environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Superb interpersonal skills to work across and up through the organization, including partner/customer concern and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts
Advanced problem-solving capabilities and the ability to use constraints as opportunities
Working understanding of Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup principles
Experience with Tableau and other reporting and analytics tools
4+ years of experience developing and customizing application and data solutions
4+ years of working with clients and vendors developing solutions and supporting projects from requirements capturing to release management
Experience with data engineering and integrations, ideally Python and Databricks
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
High degree of initiative and self-motivation
Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
