Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of data-driven solutions that drive business growth and innovation. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute data acquisition, transformation, and processing strategies. Your expertise in data engineering, big data technologies, and data analysis will help us drive sustainable revenue growth and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement streaming and near-real-time data pipelines that feed systems critical to our business operations
- Collaborate with various teams to define and execute data acquisition, transformation, and processing strategies that drive business growth and innovation
- Develop and implement data quality checks, data validation, and data integrity processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of data
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions that meet their needs
- Lead the adoption of data processing and analysis within the Hadoop ecosystem and train team members on data engineering best practices
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and data lineage
- Guide and mentor junior engineers to ensure successful project delivery and skill growth
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering, big data technologies, and data analysis
- 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
- 2+ years of experience with big data technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE, Kafka, or Nifi
- 2+ years of experience with relational database systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Certification as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of data engineering best practices and industry trends
