We are looking for an experienced Scala Engineer to join a remote team working on industrial IoT solutions. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend systems, working with real-time data, and contributing to modern cloud-based architecture.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of total experience in web development
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Scala programming language
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Experience with building RESTful APIs
- Solid experience with backend development and distributed systems
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
- English at least Upper-intermediate
Tech Stack Scala, Cats Effect, Akka (HTTP, Streams), Slick, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Azure, Kubernetes, Databricks

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality RESTful microservices using Scala, Akka HTTP / Akka Streams
- Support clean, maintainable, and well-documented event-driven architecture following best practices and coding standards
- Utilize Kubernetes, Terraform and Python scripting to support application deployments in Azure Cloud
- Utilize SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, for data storage and retrieval purposes.
- Collaborate with small cross-functional development teams to deliver feature-rich web applications.
