The Opportunity Rex is seeking a Sales Event Manager to ensure flawless execution of events at Hotel Ella, a boutique property known for weddings, social events, and elevated hospitality. This role bridges sales and operations, turning booked business into seamless, memorable experiences. This role is anchored by two core mandates. First, own end-to-end event execution, from planning and cross-functional coordination to on-site leadership during events. Second, deliver a high-touch client and guest experience, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring every detail is executed with precision and professionalism. You will coordinate closely with food and beverage, culinary, front office, and housekeeping teams to align on timelines, setups, staffing, and service standards. You’ll lead event turnover meetings, review event details for accuracy, and proactively solve issues before they impact the guest experience. The ideal candidate has 2–3+ years of experience in events, catering, or hospitality operations and thrives in fast-paced environments. They are detail-oriented, organized, calm under pressure, and energized by leading execution on the floor. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be in the action, ensuring every event runs seamlessly. About the Role Rex is hiring a Sales Event Manager to translate Hotel Ella’s strong events business into seamless execution and an exceptional guest experience. The property has a distinctive brand, meaningful weddings, social, and corporate event demand, and clear upside to elevate both service quality and operational consistency. This leader will own execution across all events, ensuring precision, organization, and accountability from final planning through on-site delivery. You will serve as the connective tissue between event sales and hotel operations, aligning food and beverage, culinary, front office, and housekeeping teams to execute every detail at a high level. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, planners, and vendors during events, delivering a high-touch, responsive experience while proactively managing timelines, setups, and service flow. You will lead internal communication, review event details for accuracy, and solve problems in real time to protect the guest experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment. It is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who thrives on being in the action, coordinating moving parts, and ensuring every event at Hotel Ella is executed flawlessly. Key Responsibilities - Event Planning and Execution- Manage the full operational execution of events booked at Hotel Ella, including weddings, meetings, corporate gatherings, private dining events, and social functions - Review banquet event orders, rooming details, setup requirements, timelines, menus, and special requests for accuracy and completeness - Lead internal event turnover meetings and communicate final details clearly to Food and Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, and other operational departments - Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, vendors, and event hosts during program execution - Conduct pre-event walkthroughs and confirm all event spaces are set according to contract, banquet event order, and service standards - Monitor event flow, timing, staffing, setup quality, and guest experience throughout each function - Respond quickly and professionally to last-minute changes, guest requests, and operational challenges - Client and Guest Experience- Build strong working relationships with clients, planners, and vendors to ensure confidence and satisfaction throughout the event process - Deliver a high-touch hospitality experience that is professional, warm, responsive, and solutions-focused - Anticipate client needs and resolve service issues in real time with urgency and professionalism - Support post-event follow-up as needed, including feedback collection, internal recap, and documentation of opportunities for improvement - Operational Coordination- Partner closely with the Sales team to transition booked business into a successful operational plan - Work with banquet, restaurant, bar, and culinary teams to ensure proper staffing, service flow, and readiness for each event - Coordinate room blocks, VIP needs, welcome amenities, and special guest requests with Front Office and Housekeeping when applicable - Ensure event spaces, equipment, signage, linen, décor, and service items are in place and presentation-ready - Maintain knowledge of all event spaces, capacities, setup styles, and service standards across the property - Administrative and Financial Oversight- Review event files, contracts, and banquet event orders for operational accuracy - Ensure billing details, consumption updates, guarantees, and final changes are properly communicated and documented - Assist with tracking event-related expenses, staffing efficiency, and service execution to support profitability - Maintain accurate records, notes, and communication within hotel systems and event platforms - Support forecasting of event needs, inventory usage, and operational labor based on business levels - Team Leadership- Help lead and direct banquet and service teams during event execution - Model professionalism, accountability, and service excellence at all times - Support training and coaching of team members on service standards, event readiness, and guest engagement - Foster strong collaboration between departments to ensure consistent execution and communication Ideal Candidate Profile - Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in event management, banquet operations, catering, or hotel food and beverage leadership - Previous luxury hotel, boutique hotel, wedding venue, or upscale restaurant experience preferred - Strong understanding of banquet service, event timelines, catering operations, and guest service standards - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities at once - Ability to remain calm, composed, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in hotel and event systems preferred, including Tripleseat, PMS platforms, and Microsoft Office - Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event demand - High agency, scrappy, and execution-oriented; willing to do the work required to win, from sales outreach to operational problem-solving. - Builder mindset with the ability to take a strong foundation and elevate it into a standout, market-leading property. - Missionary mindset: driven by purpose, disciplined under pressure, and relentless in execution. - Fully aligned with Rex’s mission to catalyze human flourishing through business.
