[Remote] Payroll & Tax Analyst

They are seeking a Payroll & Tax Analyst who will be responsible for payroll processing, tax filings, audits, and addressing employee inquiries while ensuring compliance with payroll legislation. Responsibilities • Execute payroll calculation processing procedures from start to finish for each pay period • Responsible for ensuring overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings; deductions are calculated, taxed and paid as intended for each pay period • Reconcile and resolve payroll variances that occur within the bi-weekly payroll process • Primary responsibility for loading payroll input files • Processes various data related task within the payroll tax organization such as registrations, tax notices and filings • Assist in the testing, configuration and maintaining of the payroll system including updating tax rates and tax codes • Assist with financial reporting and audit requests • Monitors and manages payroll legislation compliance • Maintains and creates payroll procedures and employee communications • Case inquiries and follow up via Salesforce or email support ensuring and documenting resolution Skills • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required) • 2+ years of experience in related field • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field • Experience with US multi-state payroll processing practices and procedures strongly preferred • Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations including withholding and tax treatment for various deductions • Strong working knowledge with ADP Tax Service and ADP Smart Compliance • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite, Workday, Salesforce and other web-based tools • Excellent ability to manage time effectively, meeting deadlines, and deliverables in a remote environment • Effective communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration and employee support Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision coverage along with numerous health and wellness programs • Parental leave and support plus adoption and surrogacy assistance • Career development programs and tuition reimbursement for continued education • 401k match including an annual company contribution Company Overview • It's an exciting time to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC).
