Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bradford & Barthel, LLP is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable legal secretary who is highly organized and detail-oriented. The role involves providing clerical support to attorneys, including preparing and filing legal documents, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a diary system.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and files legal documents and correspondence
- Electronically files legal documents in EAMS Workers' Compensation program
- File and serves legal documents
- Schedules medical appointments, depositions, interpreters, court reporters and witnesses
- Maintains diary system
- Takes incoming calls for attorney and assists client were needed
- Ensure proper indexing and filing of legal documents
- Works closely with attorneys and legal staff to complete clerical assignments
Skills
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software
