JOB FUNCTION:
Provide, expand, and strengthen professional development opportunities for Northwest Minnesota early childhood professionals. Advise Parent Aware-participating educators on intentional career pathways.
Position covers NW Minnesota service area.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with the ability to obtain a Professional Development Advising endorsement through Achieve
- 2 years applicable experience in the early childhood field
- Must hold a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and be able to arrange own transportation to meet with clients and conduct business within the service delivery area
Preferred
- Knowledge of the MN early childhood professional development system, including an understanding of early childhood related credentials and higher education opportunities
- Lived experience or a history of working with individuals with low incomes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Advise Early Childhood Professionals
a) Create a Relationship-Based Professional Development (RBPD) account in Develop and maintain appropriate RBPD Endorsement
b) Follow the Parent Aware Implementation Manual to provide advising, including accessing Develop Learning Records
c) In partnership with the Coordinating Office, provide CDA advising and recruit for Learning Communities
d) Provide professional development advising on statewide and national quality initiatives and credentials/certifications, including Parent Aware, CDA and Infant/Toddler CDA
e) Provide intentional professional development advising services to all early childhood educators using the Knowledge and Competency Framework
f) Assist early childhood educators in identifying knowledge and competency gaps
g) Work with early childhood educators to create a Professional Development Plan, identifying upcoming trainings that will meet their short and long-term training goals
Support Clients
a) Support Parent Aware participating early childhood educators in the use of Develop, Achieve, and other required technology programs
b) Work with RBPD specialists and Grant Administrator as needed
c) Share information with programs about financial assistance for continuing education, such as TEACH and REETAIN
Build and Maintain Relationships
a) Develop and maintain productive relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for other CAPLP Child Care Connections staff to be involved in partner work
b) Participate in District and State networking opportunities
c) Develop relationships with culturally based community organizations and newcomer communities to ensure Child Care Connections services are culturally responsive and accessible
d) Participate on various committees, advisor boards, or community groups as appropriate
e) Enhance partnerships by serving as a resource to professional early childhood associations/groups in Northwest Minnesota
Document Data
a) Follow established professional, ethical, and legal standards including maintaining confidentiality, upholding data privacy, and being a mandated reporter
b) Use computer software applications to communicate clearly and to manage information in a timely manner, including inputting data, editing databases, retrieving specific records, and completing reports to communicate the information
c) Enter Parent Aware RBPD events in Develop in accordance with the timeline set by the state
d) Develop additional resources as needed
Agency and Division Support
a) Represent Agency in communities we serve
b) Align and build on efforts to achieve a shared vision and common goals in serving people
c) Assist with Agency projects as requested
d) Attend and participate in agency, community and state meetings as requested
e) Participate in agency provided trainings and seek out additional training to enhance professional development
f) Assist with onboarding and training of Agency team members as requested
g) Compile and submit required documentation
h) Availability to work designated Agency hours for your Division and position
