Hiring salary range: $113,815 - $147,290 / year

Managerial Accountabilities & Demonstrated Management Skills:
Manage the unit and achieve the targeted results through diligent and accurate oversight of the health and safety and financial aspects of the department. Maintain a team of subordinates who are capable of producing the outputs required:
•Ensure subordinates are able and willing to produce the desired output (safe efficient execution of all work), and that processes are continually improved for achieving those outputs.
•Provide staffing recommendations for their function as requirements and objectives evolve, especially in the face of new projects.
•Assess staff capability to do the required work, now and in the future.
•Conduct personal effectiveness reviews of subordinates to build relationships and trust, and to improve effectiveness.
•Advocate the acquisition of appropriate tools and skills to optimize the performance of staff.
•Mentor, counsel and foster the personal development of all subordinates.
•Manage the unit and achieve the approved programs and targeted results through the promotion of teamwork between the various disciplines and LOB’s across Hydro One.
•Generate a customer/client-focused culture, which consistently meets its promised commitments.
•Optimize all resources and encourage innovative ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
•Maintain and develop a skilled and safety conscious workforce within the department, promoting succession planning.
Be accountable for the outputs of others:
•Set the appropriate context for subordinates (i.e. safety expectations, corporate strategies and policies, accountabilities, tasks, budget and programs, compliance and performance targets, expectations for continuous improvement, etc.).
•Set an effective framework of policies and procedures for the work of the unit.
•Know and ensure own and subordinates’ compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and all corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted practices relating to the work of the unit.
•Establish a two-way working relationship with subordinates to solicit their views on conditions and potential changes affecting their work emphasizing safety and continuous improvement opportunities.
Provide leadership to subordinates, so that they collaborate competently, and with full commitment, with each other in pursuing the goals set:
•Translate the corporate goals and objectives into a direction which guides the work of the unit and communicate that direction to all staff.
•Define specific tasks for subordinates that are required to achieve desired results and/or to accommodate changes required within the business operations.
•Communicate expectations regarding the collateral relationship among subordinates.
Provide a safe and healthy work environment:
•Provide subordinates with appropriate knowledge, skills, information, work procedures and equipment to facilitate responsible behavior which will protect their safety and contribute to their health.
•Provide a work environment and facilities where health and safety incidents are minimized/ eliminated.
•Provide a work environment that supports and values diversity and is free from harassment.
•Know and ensure self and subordinates comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted practices relating to their work.
•Consistently re-enforce the expectation that all work will be executed in a safe and efficient manner.
Demonstrate stewardship of the assets and resources:
•Ensure the permeation of sound decision making within the department governed by an appreciation of the corporate context.
•Consistently demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the broader ramifications of decisions made and actions taken both personally and by subordinates.
General Accountabilities:
Accountable to manage, develop and maintain staff for a centralized scheduling department supporting the capital work program.
Accountable to administer the technical scheduling effort and providing guidance and leadership for all schedulers utilizing the Primavera P6 Database to create Project schedules, and Portfolio schedules.
Accountable to ensure the scheduling team adheres to the portfolio schedule alignment rules and project schedule structure.
