They are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer I to design and implement manufacturing processes and equipment, focusing on medium to large scale projects while collaborating with various teams to drive improvements and ensure safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new equipment and processes
- Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements
- Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability and process capability of new products or product extensions
- Support and influence recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes
- Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events
- Demonstrate knowledge of DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans
- Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines
- Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements
- Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability
- Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes
Skills
- 4-year degree in Engineering or Technology
- Equipment procurement experience
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability
- Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- A minimum of 1 year of engineering experience preferred, with mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
