About the Role: Lead Product / UX Designer
As a Lead Product / UX Designer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our suite of products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and fellow designers, to create intuitive and delightful user interfaces that drive customer satisfaction and product adoption. Your expertise in UX design will help us develop user-centered designs that align with Salesforce's design principles and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate clear and compelling design ideas to key stakeholders through documentation, reviews, and presentations
- Serve as a bridge between design, product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure seamless collaboration
- Work closely with product owners, engineers, and user research to create a vision for the product area and drive design decisions
- Oversee multiple web and mobile application features, interfaces, and experiences, ensuring consistency and excellence
- Create designs that adhere to and extend the existing style guide, promoting a cohesive brand identity
- Generate detailed final design specs that inspire accurate developer builds and polished final products
- Mentor new design staff and promote design best practices across the team
- Set the vision for a product's creative identity, articulate it clearly, and guide the team through its implementation
- Create inclusive designs for all users, advocating for accessibility and encouraging product and engineering management to prioritize accessible features and bug fixes
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or a related field
- Proven experience as a UX designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work for web and/or mobile applications, ideally within enterprise software or SaaS products
- Lead UX experience (10+ years) is desired, with a track record of driving design excellence and innovation
- Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and standard processes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment while producing great design work on tight deadlines
- Strong communication and active listening skills, with an ability to build and develop close, trusting relationships
- Experience using multiple approaches, including analytics and user research, to drive decisions and develop product iterations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of current design tools such as Figma and ability to quickly learn new tools as they emerge
- Experience developing software that is global in reach, universal in design, and designed for users of multiple languages and abilities
- Experience designing and thinking in design systems, not just single-purpose apps
- An internal compass that points toward ethics and equality, and the conviction to speak up when we veer off course
