About the Role
As a Home-Based Sr. Specialist in Collections, you'll play a vital role in interacting with customers and negotiating bill arrangements for both inbound and outbound collections. You'll provide a blithequark interaction with credit account holders by treating them with respect and appreciation, showing courtesy and friendliness, identifying diverse account holder segments, and offering suitable possible solutions. You'll be responsible for thoroughly knowing and adhering to all credit guidelines and procedures, account charge terms, billing/collections structures, and various country and federal laws, guidelines, and policies governing credit and collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers and negotiate bill arrangements for both inbound and outbound collections.
- Provide a blithequark interaction with credit account holders by treating them with respect and appreciation, showing courtesy and friendliness, identifying diverse account holder segments, and offering suitable possible solutions.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills through probing or making recommendations for handling of exceptional account situations (e.g. bankruptcy, CCC, deceased, legal, fraud, billing disputes, etc.).
- Work in a multi-media environment (emails, telephone calls, chat messages, and letters) that's fast-paced and requires prioritizing work accordingly.

About You
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Home-Based Sr. Specialist in Collections. If you have the following qualifications and skills, we encourage you to apply:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- 1-2 years of previous customer experience or customer service experience
- Ability to engage with customers, crew contributors, and internal business partners with a professional, friendly, empathetic style, and de-escalate as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, negotiating, and decision-making skills. Experience managing escalated customer complaints
- Ability to apply diverse data sources to respond to questions, identify issues, and accurately resolve customer problems
- Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high skillability with PC/Microsoft applications
- Access to a home workspace that is free from noise distractions to perform the role
- Hardwired internet at your home location (Hardwired: using an Ethernet cable to directly connect the Target-issued laptop to the modem or router)
- Meet the minimum bandwidth requirement of 40mbps download/5mbps upload
- Ability to interact through a Target-issued internet digital camera for required meetings, training, and/or interactions
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment
Additional Home-Based Requirements
As a Home-Based Sr. Specialist in Collections, you'll be required to meet the following additional requirements:
- From time to time, and upon request, you'll be required to complete an online speed test and email a photograph of your speed test result to your supervisor.
- You may be required to deactivate Wi-Fi functionality while using Target system at some point during your work hours.
- You may be required to store emergency and work telephone numbers (excluding online resources) and other required notices in a conspicuous spot in your home workspace.
- If there are prolonged disruptions in your electricity or internet provider, you'll be required to follow unique Target procedures which may include taking unpaid days off if applicable.
- You will take reasonable care to prevent unauthorized disclosure of or access to Target property or information through others in the home worksite.
- You must log out or lock your Target-issued laptop when you are away from your workspace.
- Target-issued equipment can only be used for Target business functions and printing and/or storing proprietary information is not allowed.
- You must keep your workspace free from any personal mobile phones, tablets, or other such devices (especially video and audio recording devices).
- You must adhere to Target's dress code expectations while working from home.
- You must use the surge protector to ensure your Target-issued equipment is properly powered.
- You will not be reimbursed for any home office costs, including internet, office supplies, or desk furniture.
- You are expected to follow Target's "Ergonomics in the Workplace" guidelines when setting up your workspace and ensure a safe work environment.
- You must have a working smoke detector in or near the workspace.
- You must have a first aid kit available near the workspace.
- You may be required to install all issued Target equipment in your home workspace.
- You may be required to disassemble and return to all Target-issued equipment as directed by your supervisor upon request and/or upon the completion of your role.
