Title: Insider Threat Product Manager
Location: Durham, NC (Remote)
Duration: long term contract
Required Skills:
• 14+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 8 years focused on insider threat management
• Proven track record leading product development initiatives for security technologies
• Experience building and managing support teams in a 24/7 operational environment
• Deep understanding of behavioral analytics, UEBA, Access Control, Event Logs, DLP, and related security technologies
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO 27001)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Experience with agile development methodologies and product management practices
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's preferred)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience implementing AI/ML solutions for security use cases
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, FAIR, or CRISC
• Background in financial services, healthcare, or government security operations
• Experience with cloud security and securing remote/hybrid work environments
• Knowledge of privacy regulations and their impact on monitoring programs
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Development
• Define the product roadmap and vision for our insider threat capabilities, aligning with organizational security objectives and industry best practices
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing new insider threat monitoring and detection features, utilizing AI, machine learning, and behavioral analytics
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure product effectiveness and demonstrate value to stakeholders
• Partner with engineering teams to translate security requirements into technical specifications
• Stay abreast of emerging insider threat technologies, techniques, and regulatory requirements
Program Management & Operations
• Own the end-to-end insider threat program lifecycle, from development through deployment and ongoing support
• Develop and refine policies, procedures, and workflows for insider threat detection, investigation, and response
• Establish and maintain governance structures to ensure proper oversight and compliance
• Create and maintain documentation for all aspects of the insider threat program
• Coordinate regular program reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Legal, HR, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure the program meets all regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to enhance analytics capabilities and reduce false positives
• Work with business units to understand unique insider risk profiles and tailor monitoring accordingly
• Engage with executive leadership to report on program performance and strategic initiatives
• Represent the insider threat function in enterprise security governance forums
