Introduction The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Personnel Management is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Specialist Entry or Senior level position within the Human Resources team serving the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. This position is located at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove (WVHUG), which is a skilled nursing, long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional medical services to elderly or disabled Veterans and their spouses. The WVHUG campus is located off Highway 11 in-between Burlington and Racine and is a short drive from Milwaukee, Kenosha, and other key locations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Position Summary This position performs personnel management tasks related to Human Resources (HR) policies and processes at WVHUG. The incumbent is responsible for providing expertise and leadership in the management and coordination of recruitments and position vacancies. The position will assist with advising supervisors on employee relations processes, reviewing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence Requests, and coordinating the worker’s compensation and return to work program. This position will assist with ensuring consistent application of HR and agency policy. Major goals of this position include the administration and coordination of employment relations, position classification, staffing, FMLA, medical leave, and wellness programs. The position has critical communication responsibilities and is responsible for ensuring that the HR Supervisor is advised of existing and developing issues in the facility. To view full copies of the position descriptions, click the following links: Human Resources Specialist Human Resources Specialist – Senior Salary Information The starting salary for Human Resources Specialist is between $33.50 - $35.50 an hour ($69,680 - $73,840 annually). The entry level classification is in pay schedule and range 81-04. The starting salary for Human Resources Specialist – Senior is between $36.00 - $38.00 an hour ($74,880 - $79,040 annually). The senior level classification is in pay schedule and range 81-03. Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details This position is eligible to work remotely after an initial training period. Remote work is intended to be performed in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs.
