Role Description The PPH Representative is responsible for responding to incoming cases on Pet Poison Helpline and our animal nurse lines via telephone and chat regarding potential toxic exposures, poisonings, and other adverse events or general care inquiries from pet owners. • Take full histories and details of the events • Triage the cases • Provide accurate medical, health, and safety information to the callers • Document each case in an electronic record • Follow up as necessary to ensure the well-being of the animals • Manage cases under pressure and communicate with people in various emotional states Qualifications • Active CVT/LVT/RVT License • At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinic/hospital • Emergency/critical care experience preferred for some positions Requirements • Ability to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays • Maintain active licensure, if applicable • Above average proficiency with keyboarding, PCs, Microsoft Office, and common computer software and hardware • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure • Clear, concise, accurate, professional, empathetic, and compassionate verbal and written communication • Strong attention to detail and spelling • Ability to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions • Ability to gather and analyze complex or diverse information • Customer service focused attitude and behavior • Maintain confidentiality of clients' products, procedures, and case detail • Meet and maintain IT requirements following SCI policies for remote employees Benefits • Starting base rate of pay between $20-21/hour • Shift differentials applied on top of the base rate if applicable • Additional $5/hour differential for weekend phone shifts • Pay varies based on education, experience, and credentials • Medical, dental, vision, life, pet, and other supplemental insurance options • 401K with match • Paid time off and paid holidays • Company paid life, short- & long-term disability insurance • CE & license reimbursement • Incentive programs Application Follow-up Due to the large number of applicants we receive and the unique nature of this position, we are not always able to respond to every candidate who applies.
