Job Overview
As a Software Tester contracted to support the Integrated Early Warning of CBRN Sensors project, you'll work closely with our development team to identify and address issues, verify functionality, and ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of decision support tools critical for the protection of our forces against physical and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Develop and Execute Test Plans: Create and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.
- Conduct Various Types of Testing: Perform functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to identify defects and ensure that all software components work seamlessly together.
- Automate Testing Processes: Use automated testing tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Perform Manual Testing: Conduct manual testing when necessary, ensuring thorough coverage and accurate identification of issues.
- Document and Report Bugs: Document and report bugs and defects, including detailed steps to reproduce, severity, and impact, using issue tracking systems such as Jira or Azure Devops (ADO).
- Collaborate with Development Team: Work closely with the development team to triage, prioritize, and resolve reported issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in Team Meetings: Participate in regular team meetings and project reviews to provide status updates, discuss issues, and collaborate on solutions.
- Improve Data and Knowledge Management: Help develop and institutionalize data/information quality and management standards, systems, and analytics, and perform data quality assessments.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Certifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Clearance Requirement
Must have an active U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) level Security Clearance.
Experience and Skills
- Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Software Tester or Quality Assurance Engineer, preferably in a software development environment.
- Software Testing Methodologies: Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Automated Testing Tools: Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
- Scripting Languages: Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation is a plus.
- Agile Development Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Agile) is preferred.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Flexible Work Arrangement: We offer a flexible, hybrid Remote arrangement for this position.
- Office Environment: Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel to customer sites and test events.
