About the Role
The lease accounting team is responsible for accounting and financial reporting for real estate, assets, and leases. As a data entry specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing loan book entries, account balances, and explanations for changes associated with lease accounts. You will also work closely with various teams, including finance, real estate, lease administration, and legal, to resolve any accounting issues or complaints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review loan book entries for global transactions, including collections and adjustments
- Prepare account balances and explanations for changes associated with lease accounts and quarterly closings
- Lead the quarterly SOX audit team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all real estate, asset, and loan transactions
- Manage the company's quarterly CRE coverage, including totals, margins, exposure F/S, reasons for change analysis, and volatility
- Improve efficiency through continuous monitoring and improvement of existing processes and maintain an up-to-date understanding of any changes in loan accounting standards
- Contribute to various projects, including Tririga (lease management/accounting software) changes, S4/Hana implementation, and other corporate initiatives
- Manage, coach, and develop the team by fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Work closely with various teams to understand the meaning of accounting records and resolve any accounting issues or complaints
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and 2 years of management experience
- Strong analytical and business skills, combined with excellent financial skills
- Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, control environment, and accounting systems (SAP preferred)
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead by example and motivate different groups to achieve research objectives
- Strong relationship-building skills and a highly professional "customer service orientation"
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with and influence all levels of management
- Flexibility, a "special work" focus, and strong multitasking abilities
- High energy levels, a strong work ethic, and an independent thinker
- Demonstrated experience identifying process improvements and a desire to implement best practices
- A willingness to adapt and change, with a desire to work in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with lease accounting and financial reporting
- Knowledge of ASC 842 or IFRS
- Experience with SAP or other accounting systems
- Certification in accounting or a related field
