Job Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Regional Sales Director, Neuroscience Sales - West, to lead and develop outstanding sales teams that drive high-impact customer interactions and yield strong sales performance in an ethical and compliant manner. As a key member of our sales leadership team, you will be responsible for inspiring accountability, initiative, and engagement across your team, ensuring that sales forecasts are met or exceeded. You will also be accountable for managing and maximizing promotional and operational budgets, embodying and communicating our corporate vision, and modeling collaboration and leadership behaviors that engender scientifically driven interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performing sales teams, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure exceptional sales performance and customer interactions
- Establish clear business priorities, hold self and others accountable, and continually enhance skills development for direct reports
- Operate within all company operational policies, and within company and industry compliance standards and guidelines, expecting the same from your team
- Lead team in strategic analyses of their business, uncovering key opportunities for growth and leveraging high-impact opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships within key customer organizations, routinely interacting with key customers and accounts to ensure that sales teams are addressing customer needs
- Effectively model cross-functional collaboration to respond to a broad range of environmental situations
- Meet and/or exceed all Regional Sales Director deliverables set forth by Sales Leadership
- Complete all company and job-related training as assigned within the required timelines
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales
- 2+ years of experience in second-line leadership and/or 1+ years of experience in Home Office management and/or the completion of advanced leadership training may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity or unexpected market events
- Ability to identify strategies with the greatest business impact, formulate an appropriate business plan, and effectively engage teams to execute the plan
- Demonstrated leadership, judgment, and communication competencies, and experience in managing budgets required
- Thorough understanding of customer segments and area market dynamics within therapeutic areas of expertise, CNS experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of leading and managing first-line field sales managers (District Managers) and developing field staff through training, coaching, and mentoring strongly preferred
- Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills
- Consistent track record in leading and promoting ethical behaviors
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time or as needed based on Company needs
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Experience in neuroscience sales or a related therapeutic area
- Proven track record of success in leading high-performing sales teams
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical compliance environment
- Experience with sales forecasting and budget management
