**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Customer Care Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week). As a Customer Care Coordinator, you'll be responsible for completing and processing patient referrals, verifying insurance information, and communicating with patients, families, and internal referral sources. You'll also contribute to the achievement of established goals and objectives, adhere to department policies and procedures, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
**Primary Duties**
As a Customer Care Coordinator, you'll perform the following key responsibilities:
* **Customer Service**: Represent arenaflex in a positive and professional manner through attitude, customer service, and response to inquiries and problems. Maintain effective working relationships with internal referral sources and patients and their families by exhibiting a courteous and helpful manner in communication.
* **Referral Development**: Support community account managers and hospital-based clinical consultants in the coordination and/or outsourcing of home care referrals. Receive and enter patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information from referral sources, verifying insurance or obtaining authorization as needed.
* **Referral Processing**: Enter all required patient demographics, payor, and clinical information fields in the home care database to ensure complete and accurate home care referrals. Verify and document Medicare Eligibility for homecare and create billing sequences.
* **Support Clinical Operations**: Maintain effective working relationships with other departments and participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participate in meetings and on committees and represent the department and agency in community outreach efforts.
* **Technology**: Maintain working knowledge of and use various technology and applications to complete the home care referral process, such as HomeCare HomeBase. Monitor fax machines and other electronic systems, such as Forcura, and respond within appropriate time frames.
* **Insurance Verification**: Obtain verification of the patient's insurance, including use of available online insurance information and outreach to the patient and patient family as needed. Responsible for the timely input of complete and accurate insurance information in payor fields in Home Care Home Base (HCHB).
* **Teamwork and Professional Development**: Participate in meetings and on committees and represent the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Enhance growth and development and enrich personal knowledge and skill through participation in educational programs and affiliations.
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* **High School Diploma or GED**: Required
* **Knowledge of Medical Terminology**: Required
* **Clerical/Office Experience**: Preferably in a healthcare setting
* **Insurance Verification Experience**: Preferred
* **Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer**: Required
* **Team Player**: Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
* **Effective Problem-Solving Skills**: Ability to work independently
