About the Role
As a Behavior Therapist at Key Autism Services, you'll play a vital role in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and counseling programs for children with ASD in the comfort of their own homes. Working under the guidance and supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you'll provide one-on-one (1:1) ABA therapy, collect data, and conduct discrete trials to help our clients achieve their goals and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, one-on-one (1:1) in-home ABA therapy to children with ASD, tailored to their individual needs and goals.
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions, using this information to inform treatment plans and drive progress.
- Conduct discrete trials, implement behavior support plans, and execute treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Collaborate closely with the BCBA Supervisor to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
- Respond promptly to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Arrive on time, prepared for therapy sessions, and maintain a goal-oriented approach to your work.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or be working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology).
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a 1:1 setting.
- 1 year of ABA experience, or 1-2 years of experience as a Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor in a school or home setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy, understanding, and professionalism.
- A reliable vehicle and personal means of transportation, as you'll be required to travel to client homes.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience using Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plans with youth and families.
- Previous experience working with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
