Derivatives Attorney – US Treasury Clearing Project
Location: New York (Remote / Hybrid)
Overview
We are supporting a leading global financial institution on a US Treasury clearing initiative, driven by upcoming regulatory changes and increased central clearing requirements.
They are looking for an experienced Derivatives Attorney to support high volumes of documentation and onboarding across a range of counterparties. This is a key role within a fast-paced, front-to-back programme working closely with legal, credit, risk, and trading teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Negotiate and review repo documentation including GMRA / MRA agreements with a variety of counterparties
• Support US Treasury clearing onboarding, ensuring documentation aligns with clearing requirements
• Negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, and related collateral documentation where required
• Work closely with trading, credit, legal, and onboarding teams to facilitate timely execution
• Interpret and apply netting, collateral and regulatory requirements within documentation
• Manage high volumes of agreements within tight project timelines
• Support process improvements and contribute to documentation standardisation
Required Experience
• Strong experience negotiating repo agreements (GMRA / MRA)
• Proven background in ISDA Master Agreements and CSA negotiation
• Experience working within investment banks or major financial institutions
• Strong understanding of collateral, margining and netting frameworks
• Experience working with hedge funds, asset managers, and bank counterparties
• Ability to work in a high-volume, project-driven environment
Highly Desirable
• Experience supporting clearing initiatives (especially US Treasury clearing)
• Familiarity with cleared derivatives documentation (CDEA, FIA docs, etc.)
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks impacting repo/derivatives markets
• Experience working across front-to-back stakeholders
