About the Role: Customer Service Agent - Remote/Hybrid

As a Customer Service Agent, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing timely and effective solutions to their inquiries and concerns. Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong customer relationships by responding to a high volume of inbound phone calls, providing personalized support, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with customers and sales team members to understand their needs, provide product information, and identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell relevant products.
- Utilize multiple computer programs and systems to manage customer interactions, process orders, and resolve customer complaints.
- Resolve pricing and invoicing discrepancies, apply credits, and implement return procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and managing competing demands to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a call center or similar environment.
- Ability to commute to our Waterloo, IA facility for onsite training and occasional meetings.
- A dedicated and secure workspace at home, with minimal distractions and interruptions.
- Proficiency in operating and navigating multiple PC-based programs simultaneously, with excellent typing skills and attention to detail.
- Stable internet connection with speeds greater than 5 megabits per second upload, 15 megabits per second download, and ping less than 80 milliseconds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment.
- Familiarity with Grainger's products, services, or industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
