Responsibilities
- Copy editing, formatting, and preparing manuscripts for the AVMA’s two scientific journals
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
- Previous experience in an office environment
- Experience with the AMA Manual of Style
- Excellent proofreading, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Strong computer skills with commonly used computer applications, such as Microsoft Office
- Experience with content management software
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as needed
- Association experience and an editorial/writing background is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
