Communications Coordinator and Program Director

Senior Connections is seeking a motivated and compassionate professional to serve as our Communications Coordinator and La Grange Program Director. This unique full-time role combines hands-on program leadership with communications, fundraising, and administrative support. Responsibilities - Assist in developing and growing a bi-weekly program in La Grange - Oversee daily program operations, including meals and activities - Plan monthly calendars, outings, and special events - Build strong relationships with members and create a welcoming environment - Recruit, train, and support volunteers - Track attendance, volunteer hours, and program data - Provide brief reports for leadership and board meetings - Maintain donor records using GiveButter - Assist with newsletters, emails, and social media content - Ensure consistent donor recognition across platforms - Prepare thank-you letters and donation receipts - Support campaign tracking and development reporting - Assist in planning and executing fundraising events (including NYE fundraiser) - Coordinate logistics, vendors, and follow-up - Support capital campaign communications and tracking - Represent Senior Connections at community events - Build relationships with partners, donors, and volunteers - Assist with general administrative tasks and reporting - Support coordination across programs, volunteers, and leadership - Help maintain organized and efficient daily operations Skills - Strong organizational and communication skills - Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities - Comfortable building relationships and engaging with the community - Proficient in email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and platforms like Canva and GiveButter - Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally - Ability to stand, move, and assist during program activities - Ability to travel locally and attend occasional evening or weekend events - Experience with social media and digital tools - Nonprofit, event planning, or volunteer coordination experience - Background or interest in art Benefits - Cell phone reimbursement - Paid time off Company Overview - Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1973.
